Social Media Tools to automate Content Distribution

When you create content, one of the most trivial task is to share it on social networks. I bet that this is one of the first thing you do after you hit publish. However, as social networks became mainstream, the attention span has plummeted there. To make things worst, if you’re posting on Twitter, your tweet has a very short lifetime ; if you’re posting on Facebook or LinkedIn, the filtering algorithm would only deliver your post to less than 10% of your audience.

What’s happening to Twitterfeed?

With a rather short-notice announcement on October 18th, the simple but effective social media automation tool Twitterfeed declared that they will be shutting doors on October 31st, 2016. Why this happens, and what to do if you were a user is an important topic for those who want to keep sharing their RSS feed to their social accounts.

What is Twitterfeed

Twitterfeed was a great tool, altogether simple and efficient. The idea was pretty obvious : Twitterfeed helped users to share new blogs posts to their social accounts by using their RSS feed. The configuration was one of the simplest : you synced your social accounts, then your added your RSS feeds, and that was it. No more fuss, all your new content was automatically shared to Twitter, Facebook or Linkedin.

Automated Content Distribution : A 30-day use case

In this article, we’ll describe an experiment we ran during the Summer : we used Repost, our content distribution tool, to automate the social distribution of my wife’s Blog. It’s a early case-study of a strategy that lead to nearly 5K visitors over a month, without doing anything. Half of her traffic came from the tool during the Summer !

I’ve created landing pages using all kind of tools like Unbounce, Wishpond or custom html. Below you’ll find some tips, some tools and some rules before investing into traffic. When I can, I am trying to exemplify based on our current project.
